I Congresso de Escritoras Brasileiras em Nova York

The Brazilian Endowment for the Arts is pleased to announce the

I Congresso de Escritoras Brasileiras em Nova York/First Congress

of Brazilian Women Writers in New York from October 14 - 16,

2009. This event honors the creative achievements of Brazilian

women writers from colonial times to the present through the work

of three pioneering figures in Brazilian letters: Nísia Floresta,

Cecília Meireles and Clarice Lispector. The conference is

co-sponsored by REBRA (Rede de Escritoras Brasileiras); The

Center for Translation Studies, University of Illinois; BRASA;

and The New York Film Academy.
